Our mind might force us to do a particular thing but our
heart will always ask us to do what we want, what we like, what we desire and
what is right because the heart wants what it wants.
Talking with my own experience, there was a time when I was
in a fix, In fact I often find myself in a fix when I want to do something else
but I am not supposed to be doing. “Supposed to not do it” because the society
won’t appreciate of it. “Supposed to not do it” because the society won’t
approve of it. Why? Why do we often listen to our mind and not our heart?
What happened was that we had all decided to go on a trek.
Our entire group of friends. We were some of us. We were all looking forward to
this trek since really long. We had all just finished with our exams and had a
long break before the college started and we all got bust again. So this trek
was just in time.
We were all so excited that we went shopping for it. We
bought everything that we would need for the trek. New shoes, new bag and
everything else that we would need. One of our friends however did not come
shopping with us. She said that she already had everything she needed.
And then finally, the day came. We had joined Himangi Tours
and had a couple of other people also accompanying us for the trek. We all
thought that it would be real fun. We had all paid up the tour company well in
advance to ensure that there was no confusion. All my friends were there other
than one, Neha. The one who didn’t come shopping as well.
We wondered why she hadn’t come. We called her up but she
wouldn’t pick up. We called up at her place too but she refused to speak to us.
We then checked with the tour guide to find out if she had joined the trek or
not and that’s when we got to know that she hadn’t. She hadn’t even joined the
trek and this was because she wasn’t financially sound. We did somewhere have a
hint of it but we didn’t know that it was this bad. We expected her to join us,
in fact she was the one who came up with this entire idea of the trek.
We so wanted her to come. That’s when we all decided to pay
for her and make sure she comes. We all contributed and paid for her and got
her to join us. And then we had the best time of our life. We were all so happy
to have her with us because after all a friend in need is a friend indeed.
